Non-exempt Pay Basis Hourly Pay Rate $28.00 Brand UNFI What does it mean to be a part of our Maintenance team? In this role, you are responsible for all repairs and ongoing maintenance of the facility to include all equipment and company vehicles that our associates operate daily as well as maintaining the grounds and parking lot areas. You will maintain and order supplies/parts as needed while also providing recommendations to repair and replace equipment to ensure proper functioning. You will conduct regular facility inspections and assist in developing a preventative maintenance schedule. In this team, you work directly with all departments within the facility on any maintenance needs that may arise. We have two areas of focus within our maintenance teams, which are building and equipment maintenance. The building maintenance team is responsible for repairing and ongoing maintenance of the facility. You will conduct regular facility inspections and assist in developing a preventative maintenance schedule. Our equipment maintenance team repairs and maintains all equipment that our associates operate daily. You will maintain and order supplies/parts while providing recommendations to repair and replace equipment.
PURPOSE:
Responsible for the prompt minor repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance of material handling equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Responsibilities Percentage Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment 10% Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule 10% Troubleshoot equipment problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions. 10% Provide improvements required to ensure compliance to safety regulations to DC and safety team 10% Ensure that department is appropriately stocked with part and tools needed to perform their job 10% Undertakes actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc, on equipment for preventive maintenance purposes 10% Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs 10% Modifies and tests equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability 10% Updates and reviews daily maintenance logs 10% Follows all safety policies and procedures strictly 10% Total 100% Performs other relevant job duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience: 2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Experience:
1-2 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment Machining and fabrication experience helpful
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Understanding of Safety guidelines Able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals. Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures Excellent mechanical aptitude Ability to work well independently Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Onsite Role:
This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office. Travel (minor): This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate's first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI's commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
