Come join the Smart Sand Oakdale team! We are a fully integrated sand supply and services company, offering complete sand, logistics, storage, and management solutions to our customers with our in-basin trans-loading terminals and our smartsystem storage capabilities. We own and operate premium frac sand mines and related processing facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois, which have access to three Class I rail lines, allowing us to deliver products substantially anywhere in the United States and Canada. Position Summary The Assistant Maintenance Planner is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Planner in planning and coordinating mine and plant maintenance, according to established preventative maintenance programs and schedules. The Assistant Maintenance Planner is an experienced individual focused on safe, sustainable mining, who works with people throughout the plant and exceeds regulatory requirements. This position is based primarily at our Oakdale, WI facility. This position may require occasional travel within the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and manage the maintenance side of ERP including equipment tracking data entry, work orders, PM schedules, spare parts lists, and inventory minimum/maximum levels. Designate needed inventory levels in cooperation with the Warehouse Specialist. Communicate and report to the Maintenance Planner all scheduled shutdowns and equipment rotations. Plan future maintenance projects and ensure needed materials are requisitioned. Work with vendors to coordinate needed maintenance and field quotes/bids for parts and services. Supply Superintendents with work orders to distribute across the maintenance staff. Work with Superintendents to execute planned maintenance. Communicate with Smart Sand Managers and Superintendents from all departments including Production, Logistics, and Mining to schedule needed work. Develop tracking systems for preventive maintenance schedules. Inventory and data log pre-trip information from equipment white cards. Pioneer and contribute to continuous improvement process initiatives and evaluate for further gains and improvement. Education and Experience High School Degree or equivalency preferred. 3-5 years of maintenance/equipment and/or engineering experience in a mining environment. MSHA training and experience is required as is an uncompromising commitment to miner safety. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to organize, plan and delegate responsibility. Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, and reassign priorities as needed by utilizing resources. Ability to think strategically and develop a strategic plan. Ability to work independently and with others to complete short and long-term goals. Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization from plant personnel to executive management.
