POSITION TITLE
SUPERVISOR;
BUILDING SERVICES DEPARTMENT
ADMINISTRATION
OBJECTIVE
To maintain a safe, clean and functional environment for BBNA buildings and property, emphasizing leadership, coordination, and reliability.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years' experience in general maintenance and one year in a supervisory role.

Complete achievement of the above specifications may not be required if, in the opinion of BBNA a particular candidate possesses significant offsetting characteristics, such as past accomplishments, experience, education, or estimate of future potential.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to maintain working relationships with janitorial and BBNA staff to ensure health and safety requirements. Skills to assist with minor carpentry, mechanical tasks and physical requirements of lifting, extensive walking, getting in and out of vehicles and moving large amounts of freight from carriers. Flexibility to work outside of normal schedule for conditions caused by weather and to occasionally work as backup for janitorial services. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people and cultures.
TECHNICAL PROFICINENCY
- Microsoft 365 applications including word, excel, and outlook. Preferred experience using a work order database.
OTHER REQUIRMENTS
- Experience in locksmithing or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire. Ability to obtain a State of Alaska, Drinking Water Certification as training becomes available. Valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under company policy.
JOB RESULTS
Achieves Program functions by
- Direct supervision and delegation with Janitorial staff.
- Developing staffing plans and participating in recruitment, selections, annual budgeting and evaluation process.
- Communication job expectations and delegation responsibility. Provide a wide variety of physical tasks related to keeping facilities operations running smoothly by
- Clearing entrance ways of snow during winter months.
- Being on call and available when needed to report earlier than normal working hours and possibly weekends when snow removal is required.
- Check all exits regularly to ensure they are clear of snow and functioning.
- Keeping entries and walkways clear of ice and snow.
- Removing Exit grates from doorways in winter and replacing them in spring.
- Making sure water is directed away from the building during spring runoff, and channeling as necessary.
- Assisting in moving heavy objects and setting up new office supplies and equipment if needed.
- Making dump runs as needed and assisting with annual garage sale.
- Providing support as requested when board/committee meetings are being held.
- Assisting staff when monthly fire drills are conducted.
- Provide back-up for janitorial work to be done in absence of Custodial staff.
- Provide installation, maintenance, repair of doors, and general locksmithing duties. Ensure compliance with all regulatory codes by
- Completing online courses to obtain a drinking water certification from the State of Alaska Dept. of Environment Conservation, Division of Environment Health Drinking Water Program.
- Understanding performance specifications set forth by manufacturer's recommendations.
- Ensuring Safety Datasheets (SDS) are up-to-date and available online, including keeping the SDS database updated for updated and new products. Keep Management Informed by
- Preparing a monthly report on activity for the Facilities Manager.
- Continue and maintain any required record keeping or data entry on computer. Meet requirements for travel in and out of region by
- Scheduling well planned trips if necessary to provide services, participate in training and workshops.
- This position requires occasional village travel. Monitors and improves program and service quality by
- Supporting Administrative and Facilities in the daily fright and mail functions while being available for pick-ups and deliveries to/from the airport as needed and occasionally purchases from local vendors.
- Support all BBNA programs with needed deliveries and pickups. Protect program integrity and client privacy by
