Job Description

Lead Maintenance Technician II (Mechanic) Lead Maintenance Technician Croda is a FTSE100 organization driven around our purpose of Smart Science to Improve Lives™. As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for arranging and/or conducting service, maintenance, and upkeep of process and utilities equipment at the Alabaster, AL campus.
What You'll Be Doing:
Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.
  • Troubleshooting and repair on mechanical equipment and piping systems, making repairs for longevity. Includes but not limited to Air Handling Units, Refrigeration Systems, Exhaust Fans, and Mechanical Process Equipment
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment to keep it in good operational condition
  • Typical responsibilities will include bearing replacement, agitator seal replacement, pump repairs and rebuilds, equipment setting and alignment
  • Document work performed in the CMMS, including history notes and time charges
  • Make appropriate suggestions and corrections to discrepancies found in documentation, drawings, BOMs/parts lists, procedures, work instructions, etc.
  • Work with a variety of individuals, such as engineers, other craftspeople, automation, and other resources on process upgrades and equipment changes
  • Provide input to engineering on design, installation, and maintenance of new equipment
  • Contacts and oversees outside services as necessary
  • Support other trades as it relates to PLC's, Automation, & Electrical
  • Identify equipment needs for facility upkeep by sourcing, purchasing, and installing required equipment.
  • Coordinate directly with vendors in the instance of emergency facility or utility repairs.
  • Track and maintain service documentation relating to facility and utility repairs.
  • Coordinate and execute asset removal.

  • High School diploma required.
  • Knowledge of trade skills, i.e., mechanical, plumbing, electric, HVAC, general utility required.
  • HVAC, plumbing, or refrigeration certificates preferred.
