SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Planner develops, manages, communicates and executes maintenance/project plans and master schedules to effectively utilize plant resources (material, labor and capacity). Works closely with Operations and other internal/external customers to problem solve, resolve issues and ensure that detailed maintenance activity schedules are met. Develops detailed plans for extensive equipment repairs and overhauls; maintains oversight of the job plan/task library; and provides high level resource and activity leveling. The Maintenance Planner oversees and issues detailed shutdown schedules, informational and effectiveness reports, and job plan tasks for maintenance, project engineering, and partner organizations. Develops and identifies continuous improvement opportunities and leads cross-functional projects in support of plant objectives and goals with an emphasis on lean methodology and consistent with lean principles. Develops and monitors area shutdown planning as applicable and addresses capacity issues with both internal and external customers. Works closely with all site functions to develop procedures and work practices. No supervisory duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops detailed resource plans for production area shutdowns and regular maintenance work: Develops shutdown plan to incorporate production, project, and maintenance work. Determines labor and skills required to complete work. Provides job scope and labor hours estimation. Develops job plan and associated tasks necessary for completion of work. Works with all teams to ensure identification, acquisition, and kitting of parts; collection of tools, documentation, and procedures is completed in preparation for shutdown activities. Holds periodic shutdown update meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aware of project progress and issues. Develops detailed schedules of upcoming work associated with future shutdowns or maintenance in conjunction with operations schedule to minimize equipment downtime. Assist, where required, support teams in determining if scope changes can be completed without disrupting production/maintenance schedule. Develops job plan tasks for major process equipment repairs and overhauls. Provides overall administration to the maintenance asset/task management program. Ensures estimated hours within the system are maintained up to date to ensure accurate job planning and scheduling. Recommends work schedules which balance and level maintenance workloads and resources to optimize labor utilization. Reviews and analyzes plant wide PM load. Maintains oversight of overall maintenance backlog to ensure accurate scheduling. Recommends opportunities for resource leveling to ensure work completion in the shortest amount of time. Leads shutdown preparation and progress meetings with Maintenance and Operations. Issues informational and effective reports. Receives feedback from maintenance team members on job plan (task) and schedule improvement. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
BA/BS Degree in a technical or business-related field with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience and/or Associates Degree in a technical or business related field with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience working within an engineering, maintenance, construction or utilities planning, scheduling, or estimation environment. Be able to provide continuous improvement initiatives to current process/procedures to aid reduction in production downtime. Be able to work within a manufacturing floor environment. Be able to comply with company standard procedures. Understands basic metrology principles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work and transverse safety sensitive manufacturing, assembly and/or aviation services work areas. Ability to lift 10 pounds repeatedly and lift 50 pounds. Ability to bending, reaching, and kneeling repeatedly. Ability to work in an environment with intermittent high levels of noise.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, but not limited to slope, intercept, rate, ratio, discounts, and percentages and to create/interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
