Oversee all physical plant operations within the community. Plan, direct, and evaluate engineering, maintenance, and safety activities in compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards. Develop, maintain, and execute preventive maintenance and work order programs to ensure efficient operations. Monitor the condition of buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems; plan and coordinate necessary repairs, maintenance, and capital improvements. Consult with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and maintenance service providers as needed. Administer and maintain the community's Risk Management and Safety Programs. Direct maintenance projects while ensuring quality work, budget compliance, and timely completion. Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance department team members. Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, inventory, and staffing plans while ensuring responsible use of resources. Support emergency preparedness, disaster response, and life safety programs. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is expected to perform independently while exercising sound judgment and leadership. The Director of Engineering supervises and directs the work of maintenance and engineering department team members. Why You Are Qualified:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in physical plant operations required; senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or related industry experience preferred. Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems required. Current EPA Certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire required. Strong knowledge of machinery, tools, repair techniques, and preventative maintenance practices. Experience with fire alarm systems, emergency response systems, phone systems, life safety systems, and disaster preparedness programs. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond effectively to emergency situations. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance. Why You Should Apply:
