Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in expense control; ensuring compliance and coordination with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements; interpreting and enforcing company policies; and supporting workforce planning by assessing manpower needs and making recommendations. The role includes preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, addressing issues effectively with appropriate follow-up, and collaborating with department leaders to achieve production, quality, and yield goals while maintaining labor standards. Additional responsibilities include maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security; supervising production supervisors; and overseeing all assigned shift operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
Experience:
3-5 years of relevant industry experience; 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility; knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations required
Computer Skills:
Proficient in standard computer applications
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Travel:
0-10%
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage subordinate supervisors and plant personnel in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning and assigning work; evaluating performance; providing coaching and discipline; and resolving employee concerns.
Special Skills:
Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, safety, security, sanitation, quality, yields, cost control, and operational efficiency. Strong mathematical skills are a plus.
Schedule:
Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 PM-7:00 AM; weekend work may be required based on production needs.
