Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Team Lead to support our injection molding manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving injection molding equipment and facility systems while providing day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to a team of Maintenance Technicians. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in injection molding maintenance, strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, and demonstrated success leading maintenance personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Responsibilities Lead, train, mentor, and develop Maintenance Technicians. Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair injection molding machines, robots, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment. Perform advanced electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC troubleshooting. Ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Support mold changes, machine startups, and production-related troubleshooting. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions. Assist in establishing maintenance standards, procedures, and best practices. Monitor maintenance work quality and ensure compliance with safety requirements. Coordinate with Production, Process Technicians, Engineering, and Management to improve equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Assist with equipment installations, facility projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Manage spare parts inventories and recommend critical spare parts requirements. Serve as the lead maintenance resource during assigned shifts and provide technical direction to maintenance personnel. Required Qualifications Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising maintenance technicians.
Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing:
Injection molding machines Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Industrial electrical systems Robotics and automation equipment Material handling systems Chillers, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V, 3-phase. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals. Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and effectively lead maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LS Mtron, Husky, Milacron, Nissei, Engel, Sumitomo, or similar injection molding equipment. PLC troubleshooting experience, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls. Experience with robotic systems such as Wittmann, Sepro, Star, or Yushin. Welding, fabrication, and machine shop experience. Technical degree, apprenticeship, or industrial maintenance certification. Leadership Expectations The Senior Maintenance Technician is expected to be the technical leader of the maintenance team by: Coaching and developing Maintenance Technicians. Driving accountability for maintenance standards and work quality. Promoting a culture of safety, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Leading troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns. Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. $79,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
