This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on work and teaching others. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor apprentices and entry-level technicians while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, professionalism, and integrity. Core Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Perform general maintenance, repairs, and renovations on residential and commercial properties. Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and safely. Complete work orders and service requests in a timely manner. Ensure properties remain safe, functional, attractive, and compliant with applicable standards. Skilled Trades Work Carpentry and trim installation Drywall repair, texture, and painting Flooring installation and repairs Door, window, and hardware replacement Cabinet installation and repairs Light plumbing repairs and fixture replacement Light electrical repairs and fixture replacement (within licensing requirements) Exterior repairs and property improvements Construction & Renovation Projects Assist with apartment renovations, remodels, turnovers, and improvement projects. Work under the direction of a General Contractor, Project Manager, or Maintenance Director. Help coordinate project schedules and material needs. Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines. Leadership & Mentorship Train and mentor apprentices, youth workers, and entry-level maintenance staff. Demonstrate proper trade techniques and safety procedures. Allow apprentices hands-on opportunities while providing coaching and oversight. Promote a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement. Mission & Culture Model Christian character, integrity, humility, and servant leadership. Maintain professionalism while working in homes serving vulnerable populations. Qualifications Required 5+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, remodeling, or skilled trades. Strong working knowledge of:
Carpentry Drywall repair Painting Flooring Light plumbing Light electrical General handyman services Ability to read basic plans, scopes of work, and work orders. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor. Valid Arizona driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass criminal background screening and other required clearances. Preferred Experience supervising crews or apprentices. Experience working with residential remodels or apartment renovations. Experience working with youth, apprentices, or workforce development programs. Trade certifications or specialized construction training. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
