Job Objective The Hangar Manager is a supervisory and support role managing all hangar maintenance activity and provides direct supervision to the Aviation Maintenance Technicians assigned to the hangar. Essential Functions Maintains a close liaison with the Program Lead AMT to provide current status of aircraft maintenance events in progress and forecasts downtime The Hangar Manager retains supervisory responsibility for the assigned Aviation Maintenance Technicians Manages all inspection and maintenance events occurring within the Program Maintenance Facility Ensures proper sequencing of all aircraft maintenance activity and inspection events The Hangar Manager is a team leader that should recognize strengths and weaknesses of the hangar maintenance staff, make adaptations, and continually develop each individual through hands on training or real time OJT Assist with aircraft technical support, maintenance planning of daily tasks, short and long-term planning of all hangar level maintenance activity within the assigned program Ensure Company aircraft are maintained in accordance with the Airworthiness Standards prescribed by applicable Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Metro Aviation's policies and procedures Responsible for company Aviation Maintenance Technicians to be properly qualified and trained for their respective assignments Responsible for logging, tracking and keeping current inspection status with daily close of business reports on the Company Intranet Portal Ensure all necessary work order documents are completed, accurate and maintained in accordance with Metro Aviation policy and procedure Ensure the hangar environment is operating under conditions that promote safety and compliance within company standards and OSHA requirements Train and promote the professional development of the assigned Aviation Maintenance Technicians Oversee the execution of all duties assigned subordinates Perform other duties as assigned Supervised Positions AMT Hangar Based Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA) Effective oral and written communication skills Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making Ability to create an environment that demonstrates teamwork and professionalism with diverse personalities and professional backgrounds Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong initiative Proficient in directing, guiding, and evaluating personnel Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate Inspection Authorization is a plus Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience with turbine powered rotorcraft or airplane experience Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations FAR Part 135 experience a plus Physical Demands Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time Climbing heights on various equipment Lifting up to 50 or more pounds Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required Work Environment Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible Moderate to loud noise level Driving a company vehicle, a personal vehicle for company use, or other equipment Work Status, Schedule, & Travel Full-time Schedules vary by assigned program Overtime necessary depending on workload Metro Aviation, Inc. does not have a Visa Sponsorship program at this time
