Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties As a full-time instructor of the Maintenance Equipment Training Academy (META), assigned to the District 4 Training Center, under the general direction of the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for instruction and training of personnel in classifications from Caltrans Maintenance Worker to Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent. Responsibilities include the proper use, operation, servicing, minor repair and adjustment of automotive and heavy maintenance equipment, trucks, mowers, loaders, air compressors, tractors, motor graders, street sweepers, diesel and gasoline engines and other types of equipment used in Caltrans maintenance work in the Departments Equipment Users Qualification Program, as prescribed by the
