Carlsbad, CA Job Details $8,000 a month 21 hours ago Qualifications Trigonometry Report writing Driver's License Geometry Algebra Full Job Description SUMMARY Functions as a skilled level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair. Ensures that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. Acts as primary liaison between the shop, the customer-facing service department, and the manufacturer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Duties:
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to Service Manager. Reports any safety issues immediately to Service Manager. Motivates qualified service technicians, and assists technicians in developing their skills. Ensures shop compliance with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Attends compliance meetings and ensures execution of consultant's/management's directives. Understands and ensures shop compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures. Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training. Assists Service Manager in analyzing technician performance and conducting reviews Ensures that all repairs are assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner. Provides technical support for technicians when necessary. Ensures repairs are charged out correctly. Checks progress of each repair order throughout the day. Maintains high quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. Road tests vehicles to quality check work performed. Accounts for all documents and ensures proper processing. Assist Service Manager or Advisors in handling customer complaints when appropriate Manages department performance using the reporting tools available Monitors technicians' productivity reports. Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the Service Manager or General Manager. Ensures the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools. Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases. Attends managers meetings as requested. Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments. Maintains safe work environment. Communicates technician feedback to the Service Manager. Participates in Manufacturer task force programs and initiatives.

EXPERIENCE
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an Automotive Service Department as a Technician. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an Automotive Dealership.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Manufacturer Certified Training Valid Driver's License Must be insured by Company Standards
