$109,000 - $135,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications MITER Brands™ is a residential window and door manufacturer that provides a leading portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments. MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation's largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective deployment of all maintenance team members assigned to his/her area of responsibility, executing work management processes for the efficient and effective use of planning/scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity, and continually assessing craft skill levels & ensuring the organization is staffed and trained to deliver safe, effective, and efficient high-quality work. Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day activities of the assigned maintenance technicians including training, development, budget accountability, reporting, planning, etc. Plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate the workflow to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved Train and develop maintenance team members to improve their technical skills through effective training in trouble shooting, root cause analysis and professional preventative/corrective maintenance techniques Identify and purchase the needed tools and equipment for the maintenance shop and personnel Support the local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program Fully utilize CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to document and measure practices with the goal of improving the machinery, equipment, and facility reliability Direct the planning, scheduling, completion, and reporting of preventative and demand maintenance work orders Coordinate and lead multiple projects simultaneously to ensure work is properly coordinated, approved, and completed in conformance with established priorities and procedures Maintain effective communication with all departments and promote an environment that encourages exceptional customer service Mentor and empower Maintenance Technicians through delegation and coaching Support and administer company policies and procedures consistently Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies Other duties as assigned Qualifications B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred) or related degree preferred Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred 7-10 years of progressive industrial maintenance experience with at least 5 years of independently managing a maintenance department, or a sufficient combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position Must be open to occasional domestic travel (for training, visiting other Miter Brands sites, etc. - less than 10%) Strong knowledge and understanding of machinery subsystems including mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and PLC controlled and network-connected automated systems Ability to lead and instruct others in the proper maintenance techniques for these machinery subsystems Familiarity of tools and techniques used in predictive maintenance like vibration monitoring, infrared inspection, sound detection, and oil analysis Strong understanding of Inventory & Procurement processes Proven experience in managing multiple projects/equipment installations Proficient communication and interpersonal skills High level of customer focus both internally and externally Ability to interface with individuals with diverse backgrounds at varying levels of the organization Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint Physical Demands/Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with cement flooring, warehouse-like setting with specific safety-regulated walking areas. Frequent walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Occasional confined-space areas. Occasional reaching, both overhead and horizontal, with extended reaching requirements as needed. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Frequent use of peripheral eye capability, and focused eye capability, along with hand, and finger coordination when troubleshooting process automation issues which involve large and small machinery with moving parts. Constant oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such office telephone, cellular phone, and radio transmitters.
