  • Full-time San Diego Powder & Protective Coatings is a fast-paced, family-owned sandblasting and coatings facility and field services contractor in business since 1999.
Serving San Diego and Southern California over 25 years with a current workforce of 75+ dedicated employees. We are seeking highly motivated applicants for Paint Department Supervisor and a Coatings Process Manager. These positions both involve experience in performing industrial coating applications to support our customers in asset preservation, high performance coatings and professional finishes required on Industrial, Architectural, Marine, and Military support structures, parts, vessels and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Primary responsibility is to oversee and lead painters, maskers, sanding, and production personnel
  • Productivity and organization of personnel is Key!
Manage order and production schedule requirements, insure processes and coatings procedures per work order and drawing requirements, train and evaluate production staff, check quality in application of coatings utilizing various paint systems, including multi components, plural components, epoxy & zinc primers, and finish coats; C-7, C-12 and C-14 certifications and or prior experience with these requirements are a bonus. Coordinate with Front Office and Project Managers. Additional Experience Required Ability to follow Product Data Sheet requirements
  • ratio, % Solids, pot life, cure time.
Calculate coating thickness required through Product Data and apply spray per requirements. Measure coating thickness by using a WFT or DFT and Capabilities of applying coatings to manufactured required thickness. Understand and accomplish striping and cross pattern application. Define and understand differences in coatings products and why products and procedures are required and applied per specifications and technical data sheet requirements. Use of and maintenance of different spray and blast equipment. Be able to understand and complete APCD daily VOC log sheets. Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment. Manual labor aspect; sanding, masking, plugging, hanging, and moving racks.
