In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive profitability through effective management of service technicians and repair processes. Your leadership will foster a high-performance environment focused on delivering top-quality automotive repairs and maintenance, while also promoting upselling opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue. Duties Manage the overall operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency. Lead and motivate a team of service technicians, mechanics, and support staff to ensure timely and accurate vehicle repairs. Oversee automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs. Ensure all service work meets quality standards and adheres to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations. Implement effective upselling strategies by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while increasing dealership revenue. Maintain excellent customer relationships by providing transparent communication about vehicle conditions, repair estimates, and service writing. Handle cash transactions accurately and manage auto estimating processes for repair costs. Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies essential for automotive repair services. Ensure compliance with dealership policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices. Requirements Proven experience in dealership auto service management or automotive repair shop supervision. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, brakes, alignments, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair. Strong background in auto estimating software and service writing procedures. Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards. Experience working with service technicians on mechanical repairs and diagnosing complex automotive issues. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage administrative tasks efficiently. Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with automotive sales processes is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with leadership skills to motivate a team toward excellence in automotive repair services.
