Job Description

Position Summary The Maintenance Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled technicians as they perform the necessary repairs and preventive maintenance associated with the reliable operation of a beverage plant. This role involves working closely with the maintenance team, production staff, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve productivity. Schedule Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise a shift of skilled technicians, providing guidance and support as necessary to safely accomplish plant production goals. Ensure department standards are met in the execution of maintenance work while employees are held to both food and personal safety protocols. Manage weekly scheduled work lists, ensuring tasks are assigned and carried out appropriately to meet schedule compliance goals. Manage an urgent work list by coordinating repairs with plant personnel and assigning shift resources as necessary. Conduct shift change meetings to inform employees of the state of the plant and make assignments. Responsible for training and developing technicians. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and complete work orders. Help verify spare parts inventories for plant equipment. Help manage and reduce repair parts and labor costs. Help develop preventive and predictive plans to increase overall equipment effectiveness. Non-Essential Duties May perform similar and incidental duties as required. Job Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, or a similar field a plus. Experience 3-5 years proven experience in a similar role. Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems. Strong knowledge of machines and equipment. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities. Keen eye for detail to ensure quality and safety standards. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience preferred. Major Business/Professional Contacts Regular contact with corporate cross-functional partners, manufacturing Team Members, and the Leadership Team. Occasional contact with vendors. Working and Environmental Conditions Some office environment required with regular use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone. Mostly field environment; travel from one production area or building to another; exposure to noise, dust, gases, moving machinery, inclement weather, cold/freezer storage temperatures. Occasionally required to work in the manufacturing environment, where it may be wet or dry and temperatures of <40F. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines. Must be available for occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Physical Demands Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Considerable use of arms, legs, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders as needed.
