This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with supervisory responsibilities, driving preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, and enforcing safety and compliance standards to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Key Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and schedule maintenance mechanics and technicians to meet daily and long-term maintenance objectives. Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment service life. Assign, monitor, and participate in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on production and facility equipment. Coordinate and prioritize work orders, repairs, and emergency responses while maintaining clear communication with production, engineering, and management teams. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements; lead safety meetings and training as needed. Perform and oversee welding, fabrication, and equipment modification tasks to support production needs and continuous improvement projects. Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies; recommend purchases and maintain cost control for maintenance operations. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and production downtime reports; analyze trends to recommend reliability improvements. Collaborate with engineering and operations on capital projects, equipment installation, and upgrades, providing mechanical insights and resource planning. Coach and evaluate team performance, conduct training to develop technical skills, and participate in recruiting and onboarding new maintenance staff. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance mechanic experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Proven experience developing and executing preventive maintenance programs and managing maintenance teams. Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
Required skills:
Preventive Maintenance, Maintenance Supervisor demonstrated in previous roles. Proficient knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and fabrication (nice-to-have but highly desirable). Experience with machinery maintenance, industrial equipment repair, and predictive/troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with safety compliance programs, lockout/tagout, OSHA standards, and best practices for a safe working environment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and maintenance manuals. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma, vocational training, or relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, welding, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic) preferred.
