King of Hybrid & EV Auto Repair, or KOH as a shortcut, is the first Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, and Electric Vehicle (EV) auto repair specialist shop in the Inland Empire, and the only specialist in many Electric Vehicles in this area. Also, it has gained the highest reputation in IE and is one of the top five hybrid/EV repair shop specialists in Southern California. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Automotive Service Manager and Service Writer to lead our service department with energy and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure top-tier customer service, and drive business growth through effective management and sales techniques. Your mechanical knowledge and ability to understand vehicle diagnostics will be essential in coordinating repairs, managing the workflow of technicians, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Duties Lead Daily Operations:
Manage the service department's daily workflow, including technician supervision and scheduling to maximize shop productivity.
Customer Communication:
Greet customers warmly, assess their vehicle needs, and provide clear, honest explanations of services and repairs required.
Estimating & Invoicing:
Write detailed, transparent service estimates and invoices using our shop management software. Liaise with
Technicians:
Review technician diagnoses (including transmissions, brakes, suspension work, and diesel repairs) to ensure accuracy and communicate findings to the customer.
Parts & Inventory Management:
Source and order parts, track deliveries, and manage vendor relationships.
Customer Retention & Sales:
Upsell maintenance packages and needed services to enhance customer value while meeting shop sales goals.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or Assistant Manager.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong automotive background or knowledge of vehicle systems (e.g., diagnostics, transmissions, brake systems, diesel, and general maintenance) to effectively bridge the gap between technicians and clients.
Communication Skills:
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into simple terms for clients.
Software Proficiency:
Skilled in using auto estimating and shop management software (e.g., Tekmetric, Mitchell1, Shop-Ware).
Professionalism:
Ability to handle transactions accurately and maintain a professional, organized demeanor under pressure.
Pay:
$20.00 - $34.00 per hour
