Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties While working for the Caltrans Division of Equipment, the incumbent will work under the general direction of the Division of Equipment (DOE) Director, CEA. The Chief, Office of Maintenance and Repair (OMR), South is responsible for coordinating with statewide District Management regarding field shops maintenance and repair priorities, ensuring field shops are meeting District Management's expectations, and serving on task forces or special study committees (environmental staffing, performance equipment) to document and resolve complex departmental issues, such as compliance with performance reviews, audits, and zero-based budget. These forums may include other state agencies and various Caltrans divisions. Addresses any findings from control agencies or control divisions regarding shop operations. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
