Role:
The Facilities Space Planner supports workplace planning, space utilization, and lab and office layout initiatives to ensure efficient and functional use of company facilities. The role is responsible for renovation space planning, seat allocation and drawing management. This person will work closely with consultants and internal stakeholders to create functional area designs and changes, and to coordinate facility infrastructure support needs. This role partners with Facilities, Workplace Services, and cross-functional teams to support moves, adds, changes, occupancy tracking, lab designs and changes and workspace planning projects. The position applies space planning principles, maintains space data and drawings, and helps ensure workplace environments align with business needs and company standards. _ Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to): Supports workplace planning projects and team initiatives by completing assigned tasks related to office and lab layouts, occupancy tracking, and workspace changes Maintains space planning documentation, floor plans, seating charts, and occupancy data Coordinates office moves, adds, and changes with guidance on new or complex assignments Gathers, analyzes, and reports space utilization data to support workplace planning recommendations and decision-making. Follows established workplace planning standards, procedures, and space management processes Collaborate with Facilities, Site Services, IT, and other departments to support day-to-day operational needs Maintains accurate CAD drawings, floor plans and ensures timely updates to workplace databases and drawings Maintains workplace services documentation, including SharePoint content, procedures, and service standards Learn company standards, systems, and workplace planning tools while developing functional expertise Analyzes user requirements and develops preliminary laboratory space planning concepts for review with stakeholders and consultants. Develops and maintains laboratory equipment lists and associated space drawings Conducts analyses and contributes recommendations for feasibility assessments and site master planning studies. Maintains and reports on planning data to support longer-term space and asset planning decisions. Reporting on project requirements and space planning initiatives related to lab and office renovations and/or new construction Developing options for facility renovations and creating reports and presentations on proposals Partners with stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate alternatives, and recommend workplace planning solutions that align with business needs. Understanding facility space impacts over multiple simultaneous planning efforts Support partnering with Procurement to create and execute contracts and purchase orders support facility planning Supporting the implementation of new Space Planning tools
Requirements:
High School Diploma and 6+ years of experience supporting workplace planning and facilities planning
OR BS/BA
degree and 2 years of experience in supporting workplace planning and facilities planning; or a combination of equivalent education and experience (6+ years) Strong design and graphic presentation skills with the ability to present information and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, consultants, and project teams Developing proficiency with Auto
CAD, CAFM/IWMS
systems, or related workplace planning tools Experience with Revit, CAD drafting and Bluebeam advantageous Experience with Laboratory and Environment, Health and Safety standards is preferred Experience working in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry advantageous Basic knowledge of space planning concepts, workplace standards, and office layout practices Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project) Good organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team Developing communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines #LI-TM1 Neurocrine Biosciences is an EEO/Disability/Vets employer. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
