This role oversees daily maintenance operations, ensures fleet readiness, promotes workplace safety, and supports employee development in a fast-paced transit environment. This is an exempt position in salary grade 205: Min

00/annually. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications. This posting will remain open until a candidate is selected. What You'll Do Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mechanics, service workers, and maintenance staff Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, fueling, cleaning, and revenue equipment readiness Monitor attendance, provide coaching, and support employee performance management Communicate policies, safety procedures, service bulletins, and labor agreement provisions Prepare and maintain maintenance reports, logs, work orders, and repair records Conduct quality control inspections and identify corrective actions Ensure a safe, productive, and hazard-free work environment Assist with recruitment, employee training, and ongoing staff development What We're Looking For Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Technical expertise in vehicle maintenance, repair operations, and fleet systems Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience supervising maintenance personnel and enforcing safety standards
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of automotive engineering or similar experience, OR Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, business management, or related field with 4 years of related experience Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
Additional Requirements:
Commercial driver's license desired Ability to work any shift, days, including weekends and holidays Work involves inspection in areas where heavy equipment is in operation and where fumes from buses and other vehicles are present. Some climbing and lifting is required for inspection of completed assignments. Ability to work around heavy equipment, vehicle fumes, noise, and other environmental conditions Positions in this job classification are considered safety sensitive and are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including but not limited to pre-employment testing, post-accident testing and random testing, under Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol regulations, and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 655.
