Job Description

Position Summary The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily maintenance operations within the food manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and minimal production downtime. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to support a safe, efficient, and sanitary production environment. Key Responsibilities Technical Maintenance Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Support installation and commissioning of new equipment Maintain records and ensure accurate documentation of repairs Compliance & Safety Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other safety protocols Ensure maintenance activities comply with FDA, USDA, and BRC standards Participate in internal and external audits related to maintenance and sanitation Inventory & Planning Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement with purchasing Assist in developing maintenance schedules and capital improvement plans Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements based on performance data Leadership & Coordination Assign and prioritize work orders based on production needs and urgency Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, and GMP standards Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues Qualifications and Education Required High school diploma or GED 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, and food-grade equipment Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work with CMMS such as MaintainX, Maximo, Fiix. Refrigeration knowledge will be a plus. Valid Driver License. Preferred Associate's degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance or engineering. Experience with BRC, HACCP, and GMP compliance. Leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Work in cold or humid environments typical of food production. Compensation The pay range for this role takes into account the wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000
