Full Job Description Summary of Role Summary of Role:

The Director of Mobile Fleet & Salon Innovations is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and sustainability of our mobile dog grooming fleet of 38 vans. This role oversees all facets of vehicle health—such as routine maintenance and repairs—as well as the upkeep of in-salon equipment. A key focus of the role is leading the transition from generator to battery power, driving the company's commitment to modern, reliable operations. The Director also recruits, develops, and oversees a small team of technicians, ensuring day-to-day upkeep and continuous improvement across the fleet and salon systems.

Compensation & Perks Salary Range :

$90,000 to $120,000 plus bonus

Location and Hours Location:

Majority at Vista office with some tasks at Orange County Office.

Hours:

Mon to Friday 6:30 AM to 3 PM Reporting Structure The Director of Fleet & Salon Innovations reports directly to the owner and works closely with other members of the leadership team. This reporting relationship ensures clear alignment with company objectives and provides direct access to strategic decision-making. Core Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance & Repair

• Perform/oversee the routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and overall compliance of our mobile grooming fleet to ensure reliable, safe, and cost-effective operations. Salon Equipment & Upgrades
• Manage the upkeep and enhancement of in-salon equipment, ensuring that grooming stations remain fully functional, efficient, and ready to deliver a high-quality client experience. Battery Power Conversion
• Lead the transition from generator to battery power, including planning, implementation, and troubleshooting of new energy solutions to improve efficiency and reliability across the fleet. Training provided by Happy Spa Dogs. Self-Education & Salon Construction Expertise
• Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest methods, materials, and innovations for building mobile dog grooming salons. Apply this knowledge to improve current operations and design, and provide training and guidance to the technical team for ongoing development. Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, train, and guide a small team of technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of fleet and salon operations. Operational Oversight & Innovation
• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives, driving innovations that maintain operational excellence and support business growth. Must-Haves Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude
• Proven experience or strong familiarity with vehicle maintenance, basic electrical systems, and general repair work. Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting Skills
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly, ensuring minimal downtime for the fleet and salon equipment. Leadership Experience
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and manage a small technical team, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused environment. Hands-On Mindset
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to tackle both routine tasks and complex challenges, from swapping out parts to guiding significant power-system overhauls. Commitment to Continuous Learning
• Eagerness to stay current on best practices in mobile salon construction and maintenance, applying new insights to improve operations. Nice-to-Haves Advanced Electrical or Automotive Certifications
• Recognized training or licenses that validate higher-level expertise in vehicle systems or electrical work. Project Management Experience
• Familiarity with planning, budgeting, and overseeing multi-phase projects, particularly helpful in large-scale power conversions or salon build-outs. Experience in Mobile Services or Grooming Operations
• Previous experience in a mobile grooming or comparable mobile service business to understand unique operational challenges. Knowledge of Sustainable Power Systems
• Background or interest in battery storage, solar, or other clean energy solutions that could further optimize fleet efficiency. Vendor & Partner Management Skills
• Ability to source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers for smooth operations.
