Job Description

Position Summary Develops, implements, and maintains a planned and preventive maintenance work order system in alignment with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable MSHA regulations, as well as mine and environmental standards. Accountable for maintaining accurate equipment records, analyzing equipment performance, and reporting on the effectiveness of maintenance activities. Ensures all work is planned and executed in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally responsible manner, meeting the operational needs of both the customer and Westmoreland. Supervisor Responsibilities This position has supervisory responsibilities over other employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans, implements, and oversees preventive maintenance programs and schedules to ensure reliable, cost-effective operations, conducted safely and in compliance with MSHA, mine, and environmental regulations. Ensures the maintenance management system is effectively utilized to minimize operational disruptions and maintain cost control. Fosters a positive employee and labor relations environment by supporting and participating in activities that build strong working relationships with all employees. Promotes teamwork across all levels of the operation through clear communication, effective maintenance practices, and continuous program monitoring and improvement. Leads planning and continuous improvement efforts for the department, including mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance for the mine. Maintains accurate records for all mine equipment and major components. Performs related duties as assigned. Typical Physical Demands Requires prolonged sitting with occasional bending, stooping, and stretching. Frequent data entry for extended periods. Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate office equipment (e.g., keyboard, phone, copier, calculator) Requires adequate hearing and vision to prepare, review, and communicate reports effectively. Mobility sufficient to travel as needed. Typical Working Conditions Work involves both office and active mine site environments, requiring compliance with all safety and environmental standards and occasional evening or weekend work. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Licenses, Registration, and Certifications Mine Certification or Certified person training required. You must possess a valid driver's license through the duration of employment. Must meet all insurability requirements as specified by Westmoreland's policies or Driver's insurance provider. Skills/Competencies Strong leadership and team development skills. What We Offer This position is expected to pay $120,000 - $145,000 annually; depending on skills, experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
