Job Description
Service Manager Position Summary The Service Manager will be a member of the service team and will have the responsibility of managing the service department with more tasks pertaining to the department's operations and needs. The position will report to the Customer Support manager Responsibilities Responsible for managing a small staff of 12 - 15 employees Manage and approve training schedule for employees, manage employee time off requests and address any employee related concerns or issues Responsible for scheduling and assigning jobs for road technician based on skill set and technician availability Review customer information, machine generated codes, and prioritize calls based on call types and high-profile customers and additional emergency calls Open work orders in Extend for road technicians by verifying account set-up, reviewing payment terms, verifying warranty status, and by sending material requests to the parts department Review and close work orders for technicians Distribute job assignments Communicate with customers on updates of repairs and parts Responsible for building service quotes Obtain material pricing from parts departments, estimate labor and travel costs, review payment terms and verify warranty status Obtain material lead times Responsible for conducting morning alignment meetings and job assignment with staff Coordinate internal and external MMR (Machine Movement Requests) requests Work with the sales and account coordinator teams on used and sold machines Follow-up with rental department on equipment service needs Managing service vehicles for periodic maintenance, chain input, and oversee shop supply needs Monitor and track parts on backorder/service order for field jobs Monitor ActiveCare and CareTrack Submit inspection paperwork from Service Manage yard personnel in conjunction with Asst. Service Manager Manage branch safety items from periodic safety meetings Additional duties assigned by manager Experience with managing employees Attention to detail Highly organized Professional and technical verbal and written communication Possess time management skills Ability to prioritize duties Must be self-motivated and proactive Ability to problem solve
