About This Position:
The Facilities Manager is accountable for the overall operation of the agency buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment such that it facilitates the needs of the organization, staff, clients and visitors while enhancing community image and complying with state and federal safety regulations. The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the environment is in a suitable condition to work at the Litchfield, Waterbury, Weathersfield, and Winchester Sites. Primarily works from the Maintenance department in our Litchfield headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, machinery and vehicles to ensure it remains safe, secure, operational, well-maintained and in compliance with licensing standards Supervision of internal maintenance staff including guidance, training, coaching and resolving issues Oversee agency utilities including heating, power, water/sewer, communications and security Negotiate contracts with vendors for services such as plumbers, electricians and other trades Investigate and resolve maintenance problems, and direct maintenance and repair activity, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, power, security, communication and janitorial services Complete all Regulatory and Documentation Mandates, including Wastewater, Runoff, Underground Storage tanks, etc. Ability to use computer within agency guidelines for documentation and agency communication, assist staff with same Maintain a documented preventative maintenance schedule required to keep equipment and buildings running smoothly Contribute to the development of an emergency evacuation plan. Work with and support all safety related items like the Safety Committee and Fire Safety Prepare annual operating and capital budget proposals for department Plan, administer, and control budgets for contractors and equipment related to capital expenditures staying within the allocated budget. Obtain accurate quotes for work to be performed from several contractors Work with program managers to evaluate facility needs and development schedules for repair work Coordinate maintenance of satellite site facilities on an as-needed basis Schedule and supervise quarterly building audits Maintain required permits for the facility Be on call for Maintenance Duty as per schedule

 Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm Will also be required to be o​​n call for facility issues, supervise on call rotation in addition to scheduled hours

 40 hours per week
Wage:
 $70,000
  • 90,000 salary Starting salary will be determined and based on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, certifications, scope, and performance, as well as market rates, internal equity, budget constraints, the role's responsibilities, candidate's unique qualifications, potential for growth, benefits, and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid driver's license Able to safely lift and carry 50lbs High School Diploma or equivalent Extensive experience in plant management (5 to 10 years), preferably in a school/campus setting involving several buildings Technical knowledge of plant equipment as evidenced by either certification in individual areas or an engineering degree Knowledge of complete electrical systems, alarms, plumbing, heating, and sewage systems Familiarity with building and fire codes and construction techniques Organizational and time management skills Experience managing staff
