Job Description

Job Summary This position is responsible for the supervision and activities of a work crew of state inmates who perform semi-skilled labor to maintain the roads, facilities, and other areas of the City of Apalachicola. Essential Job Functions 1. Receives daily instructions from Department supervisor and assigns, directs and supervises activities of crew members to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures and standards; assists and advises inmates as necessary, resolving problems as non-routine situations arise 2. Participates in the maintenance activities of crew members, which may include obtaining and spreading asphalt, filling pot holes, repairing uneven surfaces, sandbagging, tree trimming, mowing grass, debris pickup, pipe cleaning, and all other job related duties 3. Transports crew members to work sites, return location, and other areas as needed. 4. Prepares vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies; performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment as needed, maintains an inventory of tools and supplies; and performs other duties assigned by supervisor. Minimum Requirements to
Perform Work:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. Pass employment drug test 3. Pass employment background check 4. Valid State of Florida driver's license. 5. Pass inmate supervisor course that is conducted by Department of Corrections.

From $16.48 per hour
