Job Description

Since 2016, we have been curating vacation experiences in the Florida region. What began as a love of the area and the building of our own family homes expanded into a company that designs with the traveler in mind and offers exceptional vacation rentals with service as distinctive as the homes themselves.
Vunique Vacations is seeking:
POSITION
Chief Engineer The Chief Engineer oversees the Maintenance Technicians operating on-site at Vunique Vacations' vacation rental homes ("in the field") and is responsible for leading day-to-day maintenance operations within an assigned market. This position ensures homes meet Vunique Vacations' quality standards, supports consistent guest service, and contributes to ongoing skill development within the maintenance team in alignment with the company's evolving apprenticeship and training framework. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the Maintenance Department within the assigned market.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related vendor coordination.
  • Create and manage the weekly schedule for Maintenance Technicians, ensuring adequate coverage while minimizing overtime.
  • Review and approve timecards and PTO requests on a biweekly basis.
  • Serve as the after-hours contact for maintenance emergencies or issues within the assigned market. Work Order Management & Quality Control
  • Utilize Breezeway to assign work orders, review completed work, and ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Monitor work order completion, quality, and technician comments to ensure standards are met.
  • Track billable work order hours to ensure labor targets and efficiency benchmarks are achieved.
  • Provide oversight of scheduled projects, preventative maintenance, and special projects through the work order system.
  • Perform monthly maintenance inspections of assigned properties.
  • Perform pool cleanings
  • Identify damages, deficiencies, or maintenance concerns and coordinate with Property Management and Cleaning teams to ensure homes meet company standards. Systems & Technology
  • Utilize PointCentral to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot smart home systems, including thermostats and electronic lock systems.
  • Utilize Breezeway for work order management, scheduling, documentation, and visibility into property maintenance activity.
  • Support technicians in the proper use of operational systems and smart home technology to ensure reliable access control, climate management, and guest experience. Training & Development
  • Provide hands-on guidance and support to Maintenance Technicians in the field, reinforcing quality, safety, and best practices.
  • Support and work toward expanded technical proficiency in alignment with Vunique Vacations' developing apprenticeship and training framework.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Leadership to identify skill gaps, training needs, and opportunities for improvement. Team & Personnel Support
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Communicate personnel concerns or performance issues to Maintenance Leadership and assist in developing action plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork within the maintenance team. Property Knowledge & Special Responsibilities
  • Maintain full knowledge of assigned properties, systems, amenities, and company procedures.
  • Maintain an operational understanding of specialty amenities including golf simulators, gaming systems, sport courts, and theater rooms.
  • Lead storm preparation and response efforts in accordance with company storm protocols.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications as applicable.

Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
