Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Westlake Nursing and Rehab Center in Dania Beach, Florida. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations, ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and functional, and supporting a comfortable and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Maintenance Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs Ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition at all times Conduct routine inspections of building systems, patient areas, and common spaces Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., life safety codes, health department standards, OSHA requirements) Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs Maintain accurate maintenance logs, safety records, and compliance documentation Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork Oversee operation and maintenance of critical systems (boilers, generators, medical gas systems if applicable, fire alarm systems) Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services Ensure proper functioning of backup systems, including emergency power Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget Monitor expenses and control costs without compromising safety or quality Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies Order parts and materials as needed Oversee upkeep of exterior grounds, parking areas, and landscaping Coordinate with housekeeping/environmental services to ensure overall facility cleanliness and safety
Maintenance Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred 2-3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in healthcare, skilled nursing facility Please see the link to the new Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse Education and Awareness website.
