A world leader in water treatment solutions, IDE specializes in the development, engineering, construction and operation of desalination, water reuse, and industrial water treatment plants.
Role Description:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for safe and reliable operation of all equipment within the process environment and throughout the facility. The process output is heavily dependent on machine availability therefore, pro-active maintenance and process improvements are the keys to the success of operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Understanding the methodology and set points of normal plant operation in accordance with the Operation Manual
  • Understand the Plant Process and equipment specifications
  • Maintain current knowledge of all major work being carried out by members of the staff or contractors
  • Commitment to safety while performing all aspects of duties
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of the maintenance staff and reporting any accidents
  • Supervision of the designated maintenance staff to ensure all required duties are completed correctly, promptly and safely
  • Ensure that all relevant Plant information is passed on to management
  • Maintain an organized, clean plant and facilities
  • Maintain a positive and motivational work environment
  • Establish performance requirements and individual development targets with assigned staff
  • Regularly monitor performance and provide coaching for performance improvement and development
  • Manage the work of the maintenance staff
  • Develop, implement and monitor work plans to achieve goals and objectives
  • Develop and monitor performance against the annual department budget
  • Manage and participate in developing, implementing and evaluating plans, work processes, systems and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives and work standards
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Maintenance standards and priorities
Duties:
This list of duties is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned at the management's discretion. Ensure all statutory maintenance and testing requirements are completed on time and maintain appropriate records Oversee the maintenance of plant facilities and equipment Plan and map out routine and reactive maintenance activities Create purchase requisitions and submit to Plant Manager for approval Monitor and analyze plant operation through condition monitoring Prioritize and plan workload to ensure resources are available for continuous operation of the plant Oversee plant facilities and equipment maintenance on site Effectively develop, manage and control the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) regime Ensure all certification and reports relating to the PPM regime are correctly stored and available for inspection and audit Ensure all contractual and statutory requirements are met Supervision of maintenance staff Provide theoretical and on-the-job practical training to maintenance staff as needed Attend any training related to the plant at the discretion of the company
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • You must combine proven technical experience of mechanical and electrical engineering with a recognized maintenance qualification and a track record of managing a Maintenance team.
  • Technical / engineering degree or equivalent preferable
  • Previous membrane experience highly desirable
  • Multi-skilled
  • Experience working in a complex production environment
  • Able to work in a demanding and busy environment
  • Thorough knowledge of modern Industrial Practices and Processes
  • Intermediate computer knowledge of standard MS Office package (Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of Computerized Facilities Management Systems
  • A proven track record of working in a similar management position within a chemical processing environment or on a large-scale industrial site
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, holidays and be on call when required
  • Successfully pass a background test, pre-employment physical abilities test, and drug test

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and over 51lbs with assistance
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, push/pull, and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to enter and exit small confined spaces
  • Finger dexterity to work keyboard or operate tools, grasp tools and carry objects
  • Ability so see in the normal range of vision with or without correction sufficient to read computer screens, documents, dials, gauges, meter-reading equipment, and operate motor vehicles and equipment
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
Environmental Conditions:
Industrial environment working both indoors and outdoors continuously around:

  • Hazardous chemicals in solid, liquid, and vapor form
