Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and operation of our fleet of waste collection vehicles.

The Maintenance Supervisor plans, organizes and supervises the Division's maintenance staff and functions. This position holds responsible for overall fleet/equipment support and associated maintenance processes that include inspection, repair, pre/post servicing, vehicle distribution, quality assurance and disposal, perform diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify issues. Oversee the maintenance and repair of all fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life Manage and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance and support Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to optimize fleet utilization and efficiency Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections Manage the budget for fleet operations, including parts, labor, and equipment costs Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for parts and services Conduct regular safety training and ensure adherence to safety protocols
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience as a technician, preferably in the waste management or transportation industry Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle maintenance Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, emission systems, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience leading a team also helpful. Excellent leadership and team management skills Proficiency in using fleet management software and other relevant computer applications Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
