Job Description
The Roll Forming Operator manages a continuous manufacturing line, ensuring that raw material is correctly fed through a sequence of rollers to achieve its final shape. The operator monitors machine performance, conducts quality checks, and performs routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
Core Responsibilities Machine Setup & Changeovers :
This includes setting "mill gapping" and adjusting press speeds for specific metal thicknesses.Material Handling :
Use forklifts to load heavy metal coils onto decoilers and thread the material into feed rolls. Wrap and band finished products.Quality Assurance :
Verify product dimensions (width, length, profile) using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, and tape measures .Machine Maintenance :
Perform scheduled maintenance such as lubricating chains, cleaning rollers, and inspecting hydraulic systems to prevent material jams.Troubleshooting :
Identify and resolve operational issues such as machine malfunctions or defects like curve, bow, and twist in the finished part.Documentation :
Record production metrics, material usage (coil tags), and quality control results for traceability and audits.Pay:
