The Service Manager will oversee daily operations, manage technicians and service writers, ensure exceptional customer service, drive department profitability, and maintain the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This position plays a critical role in supporting our customers' boating needs while contributing to the overall success of the marina. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day operations of the marine service department. Schedule and coordinate technicians, work orders, and service projects. Ensure repairs, maintenance, and installations are completed efficiently and to quality standards. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships. Prepare estimates, review invoices, and communicate repair recommendations to customers. Monitor department performance, labor efficiency, and profitability. Manage parts ordering and inventory in coordination with the parts department. Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate service personnel. Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and manufacturer requirements. Resolve customer concerns and service-related issues professionally and promptly. Collaborate with marina management to achieve operational and financial goals. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including labor utilization, gross profit, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications 3+ years of management experience in marine service, automotive service, heavy equipment, or a related technical field. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Experience with service scheduling, estimating, and work order management. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair documentation. Proficiency with computer systems and service management software. Valid driver's license required. Marine industry experience preferred. Preferred Skills Knowledge of outboard engines, boat systems, and marine maintenance. Experience managing technician productivity and department profitability. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced marina environment. Familiarity with Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, or other major marine engine manufacturers.
