Director, Budget & Financial Services - UBA/Facilities Florida State University - 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Accounting and finance experience Full Job Description Department University Business Administrators | Facilities Responsibilities This position serves on the Facilities Senior Management team within the University Business Administrators Program (UBA). Provides leadership, operational management, and administrative direction to fiscal operations within Facilities. Direct oversight of revenue, payables, and warehouse units. This includes budget functions, departmental procurement functions, the preparation of financial reports, quality assurance of accounting, financial systems, and procedures. Has significant financial responsibilities directly impacting Facilities and the University. Oversees the management, administrative direction, financial transactions, and coordination of activities and staff for the accounting, budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, and general fiscal compliance of the Facilities departments. This includes overseeing the Facilities operational management of accounting. Ensures appropriate training, staffing, and compliance structures are in place to adequately provide the most efficient and effective services to Facilities. Plans, designs, implements, and administers programs and procedures necessary to fully support Facilities business operations. Manages, administers, and appropriates expenditures for Facilities allocated funds. Manages Facilities annual budgets and reviews financial data throughout the year. Responsible for developing sustainable, strategic business models and financial forecasts for revenue, payables, and warehouse units; determines and develops processes and standards for applicable rate structures within Facilities and in accordance with University policy. Oversees the administration of Facilities related departmental accounting activity. Directs Facilities accounting, financial reporting tools, and asset information systems. Ensures local systems meet the needs of the underlying accounting principles required. Actively develops partnerships throughout Facilities and the University to attain organizational goals and objectives. This includes but is not limited to collaborating with University Central Offices along with other internal and external strategic partners on designing and implementing new systems, troubleshooting existing systems, and testing and integrating future upgrades. Serves as a member of the Facilities Senior Management Team and UBA Executive Management Team. Responsible for providing guidance to the Facilities Senior Associate Vice President and Facilities Directors on financial strategic planning. Provides financial advice and counsel, as well as interprets and communicates policies to Facilities staff. Oversees audit engagements performed by internal/external auditors. Develops, recommends, interprets, and monitors policies and procedures for the Facilities Management Team to ensure compliance with Federal and State, and University regulations. Participates in special projects, assignments, or committees as deemed appropriate. Qualifications Master's degree and five years of experience related to budget, financial and/or accounting services or a Bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience.
