Job Description
Cardinal Newman High School, located in West Palm Beach, FL is searching for Director of Maintenance position beginning July 1, 2026 (actual start date is negotiable). The Diocese of Palm Beach is dedicated to providing excellent working conditions with competitive compensation in order to attract and retain an outstanding workforce. Responsibilities:
- To facilitate and complete maintenance tasks; essentially being able to be a "Mr. Fix It" or handyman around the campus.
- To oversee the maintenance staff to ensure school facilities and grounds are clean, presentable, and in working order at all times.
- To establish a schedule for maintenance activities.
- To present all invoices in a timely manner to the school business office; keep in touch with them on expenses.
- To make recommendations to the president and principal with regard to maintenance and repairs.
- To assist with the coordination and oversight of vendors, contractors and sub-contractors on school grounds.
- To understand and follow all Diocesan protocols, pertaining to safety, OSHA, contracts, certificates of insurance and professional meetings at the school.
Required skills and qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience in detailed knowledge of maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work during the day and occasionally in the evenings.
- Proficiency in technology.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, AC equipment, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team to create good relationships with other employees and contractors.
- Excellent and professional interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds and occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 - 44 pounds.
- Frequent use of both hands and fingers (i.e. typing).
- Frequent extended periods of sitting and occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing.
