Pay Range $22.00 - $31.45/hr Functions To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture Receive training as required Perform various positions as required/assigned Description This position is responsible for general maintenance throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Monitors the equipment during production and makes any necessary repairs or adjustments Documents any corrections required Rebuilds equipment as required Assists with installation of new equipment Assists with maintenance throughout the entire facility as required. Manually able to grease, change oil, and clean various plant equipment. Monitor equipment and computer boards. Trouble-shoot mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints. Work other shifts when necessary. Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout) Must be able to comply with OSHA standards. Work very closely with other maintenance personnel in order to receive and pass along information concerning the job. Must be able to work with other devices that are very fragile and require precise attention. All other duties as requested by the supervisor. Tasks Must be able to use basic hand tools.
Requires:
basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing, 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance, able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment. May monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler. May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems. Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts. Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motors, motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training. Should have good oral communication skills to discuss issues with the Maintenance Supervisor Needs to be able to understand information contained in Maintenance manuals. Must have at least 6 months of continuous employment within the last 2 years and 1 year of industrial maintenance/mechanical experience. Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
