The Company's operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants). The company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions across a range of end market segments including returnable transit packaging, consumer and industrial packaging, environmental containers and agricultural packaging. The role As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a role in ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery and equipment, contributing to the efficiency of our production processes and ensuring the seamless operation of our injection molding machines and equipment. You will lead a skilled team of maintenance technicians; implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and managing repair initiatives, all while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving will allow you to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring that production targets are met. You will be a proactive leader who can foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the maintenance team. You should have a strong background in machinery maintenance with the expertise to drive goals in machine efficiency. Your technical expertise, combined with your organizational abilities, will ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. As a Maintenance Manager at IPL you will :
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations for machines and equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and programs to reduce equipment downtime and increase productivity.
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure they are trained and equipped to perform their tasks effectively
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and service contracts.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee and supervise all maintenance activities for machinery and equipment on the site
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and control costs associated with repairs and maintenance supplies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance work around production demands and minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and audit purposes. What you will bring to the role:
  • Diploma/Assoc Degree or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Apprenticeship or formal training in mechanical/electrical maintenance (preferred)
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a plastics injection molding environment
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial maintenance role
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding machines
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs and automation systems
  • Proven track record in preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Experience managing spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical faults
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills for scheduling maintenance activities
  • Leadership and team management skills to supervise technicians and contractors
  • Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns
  • Analytical mindset for root cause analysis and long-term solutions
