Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic/Maintenance Shop Manager with expertise in heavy equipment and trucks to oversee our maintenance facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shop, including workflow, quality control, and personnel. The Mechanic/Maintenance Shop Manager will also be tasked with ensuring that all repairs and maintenance work are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. •Candidates MUST have

Responsibilities:
Manage the repair and maintenance of the company fleet, trucks, pick-ups and heavy equipment. Assign work orders to the mechanics using company software. Must be available to make and handles services calls Provide training to staff Evaluate all the equipment after the repairs, maintenance or safety checks Promote quality control checks Reporting of Fleet status to superiors: Financial, warranties, inventory , work orders, tech paid hours vs worked hours report Develop a Preventive Maintenance Program to be implemented by SCD mechanics, drivers, and operators- Pricing on all functions in the fleet for purchases, negotiations of fuel, grease, tires, parts, Trucks and Equipment etc. Set and keep up dated service records on equipment and Trucks for DOT compliance. Assign work orders to the mechanics according to their knowledge Track Fuel purchases to fuel consumption on all fleet operations. Track Shop and mechanics inventory and supervise the organization of the shop and yard along with the yard supervisor Set up accounts and approve POs for all fleet related expenses Reduce maintenance cost by 10-15% for the first year. Provide Quarterly progress reports to CEO Get all types of certifications that will help you grow on this position Random inspections on how the drivers are keeping their trucks
Safety:
Improve Safety among the company on the road, mechanics, and field. Open, follow up and close; accidents and incidents near messes where drivers/operators and/or mechanics are involved Provide Safety and Free of Drugs training to drivers, mechanics, and operators Training to
Drivers & Operators:
Provide basic shop maintenance training to drivers/operators Identify potential leaders and provide training
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred. Proven experience as a diesel technician, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience working with heavy equipment and trucks. Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, and vendors. Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and industry-specific software. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in heavy equipment and truck maintenance. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
DOT Certification & Requirements:
DOT certification preferred. Air brake certification preferred Keep up with all the DOT requirements.
