We are hiring a Vehicle Maintenance Shop Supervisor in Honolulu, Hawaii, to support U.S. military installation operations at one of the most strategically significant locations in the Pacific. Hawaii is not just a hub of military activity — it is a critical node in U.S. defense posture across the entire Indo-Pacific region. The operational tempo here is sustained and the standards are high. We need a supervisor who can lead a maintenance team, protect fleet readiness, and hold the line on quality and compliance every single day.

This is a leadership role that demands both technical credibility and the ability to manage people, priorities, and processes under pressure. You will direct a team of mechanics, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on a government vehicle fleet, and serve as the accountable point of contact for all shop activities. The compensation reflects the scope of the role and the cost of living in one of the most dynamic duty stations in the Pacific — this is a serious offer for a serious professional.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Lead and supervise all vehicle maintenance shop operations, including staffing, scheduling, and quality control Maintain fleet readiness by directing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring timely completion of repairs across assigned vehicles and equipment Enforce safety standards, environmental compliance, and all applicable federal and installation-specific regulations Produce and maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, and reporting documentation required by the contract Serve as the primary liaison between the maintenance shop and installation stakeholders, including contracting officer representatives Minimum 5 years of vehicle or equipment maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role What You Bring Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in vehicle or mechanical maintenance, with a clear progression into leadership Demonstrated supervisory experience managing a maintenance team in a military, government, or industrial environment Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and satisfy all background investigation requirements within 30 days of hire Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements A leadership mindset focused on accountability, shop discipline, and continuous readiness Meticulous documentation habits — work orders, records, and compliance logs done right, every time Incumbents currently performing this work are encouraged to apply.
