Job Description

About RD Electric We're a growing electrical contractor serving the Lewis-Clark Valley with a tight knit crew running residential, commercial, and light industrial work. We're owner-operated, we care more about doing the work right than chasing size for its own sake, and we're investing seriously in the systems and people that will let us scale over the next few years. About the Role The Shop & Operations Manager runs our shop, warehouse, and service fleet, and owns the back-office systems that keep our crew of journeymen and apprentices producing in the field. You're responsible for making sure the right materials are on the right truck heading to the right job every morning — and for everything that has to happen behind the scenes (vendor billing, OSHA compliance, vehicle maintenance, tool tracking) to keep the operation running. This is a hands-on role. You'll spend time in the warehouse staging parts, in the shop tracking tools and equipment, on the road running materials to active jobsites, and at the desk processing vendor invoices and managing our compliance program. If you want a job where you're stuck behind a screen all day, this isn't it. If you want to run an operation, this is it. You'll work out of our Lewiston shop and report directly to the Operations Director. What You'll Run The shop and warehouse — Inventory, parts staging, tool and equipment tracking, returns and core credits, jobsite material runs, and warehouse organization. Every tool and stocked part is your accountability. The service fleet — Maintenance scheduling, registrations, insurance, repairs, and assignment tracking across our service vehicles. Vendor and financial operations — All vendor AP across our supplier accounts (CED, CES, Platt, subcontractors), customer payment posting, monthly statement reconciliation, and AR follow-up. Real money moves through JobTread on your watch. Safety and compliance — Day-to-day OSHA program for the entire company. The 300 log, training calendar, toolbox talks, PPE program, SDS library, and subcontractor COI tracking. Field readiness — Our journeymen and apprentices count on you to make sure they walk into each day with the materials, paperwork, and information they need. What You'll Do Day to Day Pull and stage materials for next-day jobs based on crew schedules and job budgets Run parts to active jobsites as needed; manage will-call pickups and vendor deliveries Maintain tool and equipment inventory with full chain-of-custody tracking across the crew Schedule fleet maintenance, track registrations and insurance, coordinate repairs Process vendor invoices and post customer payments through JobTread; reconcile monthly statements Run our OSHA program — training schedules, toolbox talks, PPE issuance, the 300 log, COIs Coordinate next-day readiness with the Operations Director What We're Looking For Comfortable owning a function. You see what needs to happen and make it happen — you don't need someone hovering. Hands-on and physical when the job calls for it; comfortable in a warehouse, on a jobsite, and behind a desk in the same day Strong with technology — JobTread, spreadsheets, email Professional with vendors and customers; calm and direct with field crews Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly Nice to Have Previous experience in trades, construction, warehouse, dispatch, or contractor operations OSHA 10 or 30 First Aid / CPR certification AP/AR or bookkeeping background
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Paid time off Retirement plan
