The Base salary range of $80,000- 100,000 annually is based on years of experience. Other benefits include medical/dental insurance, life insurance short
- and long-term disability insurance, 401(k) with a company contribution, paid holidays, and paid time off.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for building, leading, and executing all maintenance and facility-related activities for the site. This role will lead the installation and startup of new equipment, maintain the building and utilities, and manage contractors supporting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and construction work. This is a hands-on role in a startup environment (Brownfield project). The Maintenance Manager will establish maintenance systems, ensure equipment reliability, and build a maintenance team as the site grows.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment (liquid blending, powder blending, and support systems)
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams during equipment installs
- Ensure equipment is installed to food-grade and sanitary standards
- Support facility buildout, including layout, utilities, and production flow
- Manage small capital projects, timelines, and contractor execution
- Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed (mechanical, electrical, basic controls)
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a CMMS system from the ground up and take full ownership of its structure, deployment, and ongoing use to track work orders, assets, and maintenance history
- Maintain spare parts inventory and critical components
- Drive equipment uptime and continuous improvement efforts
- Performs work at the request of the Plant Manager.
- Oversee building maintenance and general facility upkeep
- Own site utilities including HVAC, compressed air, water systems, and dust collection
- Ensure utilities are reliable and meet production and food safety needs
- Manage janitorial and general services for the site
- Ensure all maintenance work follows GMP and food safety requirements
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Maintain proper documentation for maintenance activities
- Ensure safe and sanitary conditions of equipment and facility
- Source, select, and manage contractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Define scope of work, review quotes, and control costs
- Oversee contractors work to ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Coordinate and schedule contractor activities on-site
- Hire, train, and develop maintenance technicians as the site grows
- Establish maintenance shop organization, tools, and standards
- Set expectations for safety, quality, and response time
- Balance use of internal team vs. contractors
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies
- Maintain and enforce use of proper PPE
- Identify and address unsafe conditions or practices
- Communicates interventions with appropriate parties.
- Ensures the passing of instructions to colleagues.
- Is in regular contact with the Plant Manager. Qualifications
- 8+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, or similar manufacturing
- Strong hands-on skills (electrical, mechanical, welding, basic fabrication)
- Experience installing and starting up equipment
- Experience of managing contractors and outside vendors
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in liquid blending or powder handling systems
- Experience in a startup or facility buildout
- Technical certifications (electrical, HVAC, welding, etc.)
- Experience with CMMS systems .
