Strong refrigeration knowledge required in order to troubleshoot, analyze and approve necessary activities. Full oversight to ensure efficient plant operations including but not limited to manufacturing, utility services, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, electrical services, wastewater, wells, water treatment, and building maintenance.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall responsibility for day-to-day activities in the following areas:
Ammonia/RefrigerationWater Treatment & DistributionBoilersWellsAir SystemElectrical SystemProvide recommendations and direction for all requests for refrigeration/utilities activities.
Manage vendor relationships.
Obtain and review quotes, services and labor for projects.
Develop and manage department budgets.
Support and develop energy conservation measures.
Ensure all health and safety requirements are established and followed by on site staff and subcontractors.
Delegate work to supervisor and team members as needed.
Ensure all elements of both regulated and non-regulated programs are followed per the technical safety requirements ensuring compliance with State, Local, Federal and WLF Standards.
Develop and assist in updating all Process Safety Management Information required by the program.
Ensure that schedules are in place for all Utilities department team members to maintain the department for optimal facility operation.
Oversee preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to maintain all systems in all of the utilities departments.
Track and report on all utilities on a weekly basis.
Works with and communicates with managers on issues which arise that could adversely impact the operational performance of the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including above the head and below the waist.

Job RequirementsExperience:
At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of utilities, refrigeration, facilities and production equipment maintenance. Direct experience with maintenance planning and/or supervision is preferred.Knowledge:
Must have a strong knowledge and experience with Ammonia Refrigeration. Knowledge of steam boiler operations and maintenance, including boiler water treatment, waste water pretreatment is a plus, cooling tower maintenance and water treatment is needed.Leadership:
Ability to lead, motivate and develop others. Coaching and performance management experience is a plus. Ability to problem solve. Knowledge of timekeeping systems is a benefit. Must be able to work with other departments and follow all food safety guidelines and HACCP requirements. Must have computer skills to communicate and process data.Certification:
Must be able to pass GCAP training in refrigeration, boilers and PSM. Must be able to become State/DNR certified in potable water treatment and water distribution within a reasonable amount of time after starting in the role.Age:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred.Physical Abilities:
Ability to stand for long periods.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including above the head and below the waist.
Environmental:
Ability to work in varying temperature conditions. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.Flexibility:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, week days and weekends. This requirement is for the purposes of training new team members, equipment shutdowns, and for involvement in unplanned events. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.Reasonable Commuting Distance:
Must live within close proximity of the plant. 20 - 25 mile radius is strongly preferred.Compliance:
Must practice good personal hygiene.
