at AptarGroup, Inc. in Cary, Illinois, United States Job Description Join our team and Be You Be Aptar. Aptar is seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance & Engineering based in Cary, IL. This position is fully onsite. This role is responsible for driving asset performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This position oversees maintenance and engineering activities focused on maximizing equipment uptime, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting commissioning and integration of new industrialization projects. This role leads a diverse technical team including manufacturing engineers, engineering technicians, and maintenance planning while also supporting assembly mechanic staff to ensure timely support for production needs. As a Supervisor, Maintenance & Engineering;
You Will:
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership Lead and develop the maintenance team to ensure high equipment availability and performance. Implement and sustain Preventive, Predictive, and Prescriptive maintenance strategies. Coordinate and execute machine and facility repairs with minimal impact to production. Provide hands-on technical support and training to maintenance staff. Manage on-call support and emergency response to minimize downtime. Engineering & Technical Oversight Manage engineering and technical staff, including manufacturing engineers and engineering technicians. Identify and implement solutions to improve asset performance, reduce costs, and increase capacity. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Lead capital improvement projects from concept through implementation. Industrialization Project Support Provide technical support for commissioning of new equipment and industrialization projects. Review equipment designs to ensure alignment with operational goals and safety standards. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for successful project execution. Team & Project Management Set priorities and assign work across maintenance and engineering departments. Track progress of projects and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion. Conduct performance reviews and support development of team members. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of parts and services within budget. Systems & Reporting Utilize digital tools (e.g., SAP, Excel, Word, custom apps) to manage maintenance records, analyze performance data, and report results. Support development and implementation of tools to capture and analyze maintenance and engineering data. Who We are Looking For Strong people leader. Exceptional Operations and Engineering expertise. Excels at leading a diverse technical team. Education Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical degree Required Skills Proven experience in maintenance and engineering leadership within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and industrial equipment. Experience leading technical teams and supporting industrialization projects. Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in maintenance management systems and data analysis tools. Must demonstrate ability to use AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or SolidWorks for component part drawings, machine drawings, and plant layouts Must be able to read, write and speak English. Strong sense of urgency to address issues and meet deadlines Strong project management skills with experience leading a technical team or task force. Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate well both verbally and produce quality written reports A working understanding of PLC ladder logic and programming and machine vision applications a plus Travel Requirements Travels domestically and/or internationally as dictated by business needs.
