THE OPPORTUNITY
Asador Bastian is looking for a Service Manager who leads with warmth, commands the floor with confidence, and holds service to the highest standard. This is a guest-facing leadership role at one of Chicago's standout dining destinations. You'll be shaping the service model, coaching the team in real time, and creating memorable experiences every shift.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead Service Own the floor during service — set the tone, coach in real time, and protect the guest experience. Lead daily pre-shifts and review VIPs, reservations, and special requests. Coach Captains and Backwaiters on timing, technique, and hospitality standards. Manage the Team Oversee training and development of hourly FOH employees. Provide feedback for performance reviews and support employee growth. Participate in weekly management meetings. Drive Guest Satisfaction Engage with OpenTable/SevenRooms daily to understand the guest list. Collect and report guest feedback; drive scores of 4.8 or higher. Build guest notes and preference records for future visits.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or restaurant management experience required. Deep knowledge of fine dining service standards and hospitality best practices. Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency with reservation management platforms (OpenTable, SevenRooms, or similar). Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience in fine dining or polished casual service environments. Sommelier knowledge or beverage program experience. Background in training program development. Some knowledge and skills in coffee service
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
In compliance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act (amended effective January 1, 2025), Eat Well Hospitality provides the following compensation and benefits information for this position.
Pay Classification Salary Range:
$65,000 - $80,000 per year Overtime (N/A) Health Insurance Medical / Dental / Vision — After 90 days of employement Paid Time Off llinois minimum: 40 hrs/yr Paid Leave Other Benefits 401(k) ( After one year of employment ) Dining Discounts Bonus / Incentive
