Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for management of the Maintenance Department and supervision of maintenance personnel. Responsible for the Maintenance Department along with the hardware, tools, and other maintenance supply inventory needed to keep production and shop equipment running. Supervise service to equipment & preventive and predictive maintenance repair programs to mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the building. Evaluate what repairs need to be made and ensures that equipment is maintained in a safe and operational condition. Work to return equipment to service in a timely manner while observing all applicable safety measures. Solicit bid specifications when needed for estimates related to supplies, contracted maintenance services, machinery and other assets. Communicate job and department expectations to maintenance personnel. Insure timely execution of machine & electrical repair and some building maintenance. Order machine parts and shop consumables, safety supplies, electrical supplies including lighting, batteries, fuses, etc. Develop PM schedules for machinery and keeps maintenance records & logs related to the department. Develop daily job plans considering the most critical assets in mind; ensuring needed parts and tools required for executing the maintenance work is available. Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures. Appraise performance of subordinates against position responsibilities and established goals, plans and standards. Evaluate personnel for actions such as hiring, promotions etc. Provide leadership in development and training of maintenance employees. Must foster a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with other departments, offering to help others when needed and consider the larger organizational needs or team goals. Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent - technical school training a plus 5+ years experience in the repair of mechanical equipment related to the printing industry 3+ years experience managing a facility and involved in the repair of mechanical, electrical and related equipment Experience in maintaining and the repair of printing, paper folding, packaging and die cutting equipment Experience in commercial building maintenance and associated trades, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, using approved construction practices Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings Ability to safely troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and electromechanical systems and components Experience in maintenance, design and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment Ability to use testing and calibration equipment Must have good verbal and writing skills in the English language Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions Good computer and typing skills Capable of lifting 75 lbs. regularly Must have good organizational and planning skills and be able to perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision IND1
