GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Performs general maintenance and landscaping procedures at all locations of the Park District.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Implementing an effective daily work schedule to efficiently complete park and facility maintenance operations, park equipment repairs, replacements and improvements, operate machinery including tractors, operate chain saws and various other power tools, assist with approved District-wide trash collection, assist with the District-wide snow and ice removal maintenance system, and adhere to safety and risk management procedures as applicable to the position's operations. A detailed job description is available upon request. Responsibilities include but not limited to overseeing job performance and park facilities conditions. Assists in the planning and monitoring of all maintenance projects related to all grounds areas. Reports grounds conditions and disciplinary problems to the Superintendent. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

HOURS:

Foreman shall be on duty as required of the position or scheduled by Superintendent of Grounds. Experience

• Must have working knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment. Knowledge and Abilities
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, methods and materials used in all grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate trucks, tractors and light motorized equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to deal effective and courteously with the public and staff.
• Has the ability to follow oral or written directions. Licenses
• Valid Illinois Driver's License Physical Requirements
• Good physical condition to be able to perform work of a laboring character outdoors and in all types of weather conditions.

CONDITIONS OF CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT

• Must successfully complete a three (3) month probationary period.
• Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination.
• Must submit to a pre-employment background check.
