POSITION SUMMARY
The Building Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the facility and members, acting as the senior staff person during his/her shift. The Building Supervisor will determine when to contact senior management regarding matters of program/membership delivery and facility operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist all staff in taking responsibility for all equipment and supplies used, helping maintain good working conditions, inventory, and clean-up after all activities Follow all YMCA safety and personnel policies Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions Maintain a clean facility appearance at all times Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate director Maintain and distribute first-aid supplies as needed; follow established YMCA policy and guidelines in the event of accident or injury (includes filing incident reports and notifying appropriate department head) Ensure all staff are at their assigned posts and report any discrepancies (scheduling conflicts) to the proper department Serve as first point of contact for all membership-related concerns, following up with the proper department head Give tours to all new prospects that come into the facility Serve as back-up Front Desk Staff Responsible for the opening/closing of the branch facility, as well as monitoring security procedures and facility operation during the assigned shift Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Minimum 18 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum six months' supervisory experience in customer service or related field required Skills Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to assume a positive, visible presence in the facility
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This individual may be required to stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating physical stamina and agility Ability to climb ladders to perform minor maintenance duties HEPA As part of the Y's commitment to healthy living, our Y has adopted Healthy Living and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards. At every Y, staff members model the Y's healthy eating standards by ordering and consuming HEPA compliant foods and beverages during meal and snack times while on the Y premises, and avoiding consumption of food and beverages during other program times. Additionally, staff members model the Y's active living standards by engaging in games and physical activities with youth, provided that program supervision is not compromised. Both physical [body language, active role modeling, etc.] and verbal [spoken instructions, word of encouragement, etc.] cues should be used to guide healthy eating and physical activity practices.
