AWS/CES is looking for a Maintenance Planner for our automotive manufacturing client
Location:
Roanoke, IN Pay rate: $34.00-$38.00/hour (based on experience)
Job Type:
Full-Time This position plays a critical role in supporting maintenance and sanitation operations by developing preventive maintenance plans, coordinating shutdown activities, optimizing maintenance processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong maintenance planning background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Develop comprehensive maintenance and sanitation plans for weekends, shutdowns, and planned outages. Coordinate and maintain parts kitting for maintenance and engineering projects. Prepare maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Facilitate weekly preventive maintenance planning meetings with the Maintenance Manager. Prepare reports, maintenance data, and planning documentation for maintenance meetings. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Analyze preventive maintenance (PM) effectiveness and update PM schedules based on equipment performance. Develop, revise, and improve preventive maintenance procedures. Audit and maintain the Planned Maintenance System to ensure compliance and effectiveness. Identify critical equipment and support asset reliability initiatives. Champion and maintain Maintenance Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) programs. Continuous Improvement Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to identify long-term corrective actions. Prioritize improvement projects using equipment history, maintenance data, FMEA results, and reliability analysis. Coordinate maintenance and engineering improvement projects that increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and operations teams to implement process improvements. Project Coordination Coordinate maintenance and engineering projects from planning through execution. Serve as the primary liaison between OEMs, vendors, and internal teams regarding maintenance-related issues. Monitor project timelines and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently. Reporting & Documentation Analyze maintenance KPIs and equipment performance metrics. Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM documentation, and equipment history. Attend and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and facility meetings, providing updates on maintenance planning, reliability initiatives, and project status. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field; OR an Associate's Degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-10 years of experience in maintenance planning, facilities management, project management, or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Experience with maintenance planning, shutdown scheduling, and equipment reliability initiatives. Knowledge of Maintenance FMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
