Job Description

Job description This is a Full time permanent position. This position requires a minimum of 2 years working in the Turf or Landscape industry, education in the field and knowledge of Midwest plant materials and turfgrass is required. Kansas 3A/3B Turf and Landscape applicator certificate holder must be maintained. This position requires good communication skills - they are a first contact for many of our maintenance customers. Competence in dealing with turf or landscape issues, as well as overseeing maintenance personnel. The ability to lift 50 pounds without undue strain is necessary. Anything that would affect the ability to lift 50 pounds MUST be brought to the attention of the Director of Operations and made known before accepting this position. This position requires a valid Driver's license and passing a yearly KDOT physical. Responsibilities and Duties This position oversees the 6 step application program, insecticide and pesticide applications. This position works in all types of weather conditions. Estimates and sells the maintenance related jobs to include lawn care, mowing, pruning/clean ups, snow removal. Responsible for training other employees and confirms that maintenance work is being performed in accordance with company standards. Delegates tasks and coordinates daily schedules for Maintenance employees on current software program. Posts daily work, adds new customers, updates prices for accepted customers along with the Office Manager. Performs end of year functions to prepare for a new season and sends out proposals with the help of the Office Manager. Work with the Director of Operations to determine pricing and place orders for Landscape maintenance department. Updates the maintenance information in the software - including updating pricing and making changes to the design. Updates the chemical application sheet to stay compliant by adding or removing products, applicator employee names, etc. Researches and implements new products that might better fit our client's needs. Visits sites on a regular basis for quality control and additional sales. Safety procedures and issues that pertain directly to chemical applications, storage, or paperwork will be maintained by this position. Additionally This person reports directly to the Director of Operations, who will perform their evaluation 3 times per year. This person often helps with some applications, pruning/clean ups, mowing, and over seeding at the Maintenance Coordinator's discretion. This person is required to take continuing education courses or training seminars during the winter months. This person is responsible for performing their work in a timely and economical manner. Coordinates with the Director of Operations for maintenance personnel evaluations. Coordinates billing with Office Manager and CFO.
