Skilled Maintenance•Level 1 Groundskeeper
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in agriculture or horticulture field or training and experience that would provide a good understanding of turf management. Basic knowledge of and skills including, but not limited to, leveling, seedind, and re-seeding. Two years experience in one or more of the foolowing fields: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or painting. Basic knowledge of computers. Must have a Commercial Driver's License with S and P endorsements, or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds chest high and repetitive lift up to 60 pounds. Working knowledge of District buildings and operations. Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and operations. Must have current Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certfication 3B, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL
: To maintain the buildings and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times. Cross-trained in all areas of general and skilled maintenance, relieving the District of dependence on outside contractors.
PERFORMANCE REPSONSIBILITES
Responds to alarm system calls in all District buildings, determining necessary action, during and after regular school hours. Maintenance and upkeep of all district landscaping equipment, synthetic turf equipment, and snow removal equipment. Maintenance and grooming of synthetic turf at Bishop Field and elementary school playgrounds. Perform all aspects of turf management at all district locations. Monitoring field conditions for hardness, disease, and moisture levels, to ensure that turf is available for use. Performs maintenance tasks independently in the following areas, including but not limited to plumbing, mechanics, painting, roofing, and cleaning equipment repair and maintenance. Provides assistance in the following skilled maintenance areas, including but not limited to key and lock systems, welding, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical. Maintains irrigation systems, inculding, but not limited to installation, repair and monitoring heads. Operating or seeder, tractor, and all grounds equipment. Performs HVAC filter replacement in all District buildings. Ability to effectively communicate and maintain harmonious relationships with district staff and coworkers. General maintenance duties in the schools as assigned by supervisor. Other duties as designated by supervisor, (school bus driving, operation of snow plow, etc.)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month contract. Salary and work year as established by the Board. This position is eligible for benefits.
